CALL statement Transfers control to a dispatch routine (PRODSP) that then calls a C function. You write the C function using ABL Host Language Call (HLC) interface. ABL HLC consists of a collection of C functions that: Obtain data from ABL shared variables and buffers Set data in ABL shared variables and buffers Control screen modes Provide ABL‑like messages in the message area at the bottom of the screen Using HLC, you can extend ABL with your own C functions. Syntax CALL routine-identifier [ argument ] ... routine-identifier The name the PRODSP dispatch routine used to identify the C function to call. argument One or more arguments that you want to pass to the C function.
